In Your Hands developed from the following situation: My father had to move into a home for elderly with dementia. He felt comfortable there, in terms of human company, but he was constantly worried about his animals. All of his life, he had been taking care of animals, and the absence of them made him confused and anxious. One day I brought a piece of lambs fur, when I visited him. I caressed his hands with it and he immediately calmed down. The fact that a piece of dead lamb had this effect, seemed absurd and very natural at the same time. Suddenly I could understand why some people love furs. It’s a substitute for having animals, it’s better than nothing.
