Video 4.30 min. Animals do it – recycle, is a work about garbage.
In a tent, facing the road, a video lights up the darkness of the autumn. It depicts a dog that’s buisy sorting a pile of garbage into recycling buckets for plastic, paper, metal and deposit bottles. Instant Herlev institute is located in a suburban area in the outskirts of Copenhagen, where people pass by, often accompanied by their dogs. In Scandinavia, at least for the last decade, there has been a time of massive consumption. A combination of cheap loans, cheap things and a neurotic interest in interior design, has made the middleclass change their kitchens, bathrooms and furniture at an increasingly fast rate. And so the garbage mountain grows. This work is made to inspire recycling.
